Beach, Bay & River

From the beach to the bay and everything in between, Matagorda offers plenty of attractions to make your stay memorable. Matagorda has over 50 miles of beautiful beach with 23 miles accessible by vehicle. Stop at one of the local shops in town to get your beach permit, and you're ready to enjoy the sand and the waves. If you're looking for the best fishing on the Texas coast, you've come to the right place! Fish the surf, take your boat out for some bay or offshore fishing, or choose a property to fish right off your private pier.

Activities

The LCRA Matagorda Bay Nature Center offers wildlife tours, kayak and beach chair rentals, mini golf and more. The Center has a summer day camp for kids, as well as events throughout the year. Events

Matagorda's Annual Lighted Boat Parade is a don't-miss tradition...and the best way to kick off the Christmas season! And our River Bend home is the perfect location from which to enjoy the parade. The event is typically the Friday after Thanksgiving.

There are so many other fantastic traditions - the Turkey Trot on the beach, Christ Episcopal Church's Fat Tuesday Gumbo Dinner, monthly Sip & Shop events. For more information on upcoming events, check out Matagorda Area Chamber on facebook.
